Magic! I experienced Magic today!

I was a little skeptical when my mum told me to go with the people from our village and meet this man called Jesus. What was so great about him? It was a Saturday and it was ‘cricket day’. But I decided to go because she told me that he would tell me stories. And I do love stories. The kids in my neighborhood tease me because I’m 1o and I still love stories; but I can’t help it. Also, Mum promised to pack me a huge yummy lunch if I went. When you live in my house, food isn’t really in abundance. Dad’s a laborer in a field and mum gets some seasonal work. We don’t have a lot of money.

So all of us travel together and finally meet Jesus. He had some lovely stories to share; I did not regret having gone. And then Jesus decided to feed all of us. Yeah, it wasn’t like 7 people; there were over 5000 of us. So the disciples start asking around to see if anyone had any food with them to share. I hid. I came all this way only because Mum gave me this lunch. I won’t get another meal like this for a long long time. I deserve to eat this; we’re poor and we don’t have enough to share with these people. I’m starving; I haven’t eaten since last night. My parents worked hard to give me this. I may faint if I don’t eat this because I felt very weak and tired.

There were countless number of excuses going through my mind. I didn’t want to let go of my precious lunch but deep down, I felt that the right thing to do would be to share. So I went up to one of the men who walked around with Jesus and told him that I was willing to share. He didn’t care. He was too busy making calculations to see if they could feed all of us. So I went up to another one of Jesus’ men and told him that I had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish with me. He takes me to Jesus and I give this to Him. He gives me a broad grin and I knew that I had done the right thing. He lifts this up to heaven and with my own eyes…I saw it multiply! I couldn’t believe it. There was enough for everyone to eat. I had never seen so much food in the same place before..That too, my favorite food.

Jesus came to me and said ‘Thank you’. I felt like I was on top of the world. I learnt an important lesson that day. God needs ordinary people to carry out extraordinary miracles. He doesn’t care about your skill or talent or gender or sex or even age for that matter. He wants to use you. All you need to do is give everything you have to him; no matter how important it is to you. Hand it over to Him and watch as he uses you to touch the lives of the people around you. Are you willing to let Him work through You?

Have an awesome week ahead! 🙂

God bless! 🙂
